The Bhutan Ecological Society will be holding its Third Annual Environmental Fair on 29th August 2015 at Clock Tower Square in Thimphu. We will be hosting many fun activities to engage participation of families and the public, including environment-related exhibition booths, games, musical entertainment and award ceremony for DFC (Design for Change) winning school 2015.

Exhibition booths may feature photos, information or displays on work or programs related to conservation of Bhutan’s natural heritage and environment (e.g., school and community programs, environmentally friendly business ventures, research activities, arts, etc.).

Saturday, 29th August 2015 (9:30 AM–3:00 PM; award ceremony from 3:00 PM–5:00 PM) at Clock Tower Square in Thimphu, Bhutan: An all-day public event for all ages. Browse exhibition booths, play games to win prizes, and enjoy musical entertainment. Children can participate in a scavenger hunt to collect toys from booths while learning about environmental issues and programs in Bhutan. An award ceremony includes presentation by winning school.

Booths will be 3-sided covered enclosures, approximately 10 feet wide × 8 feet deep. BES will provide one table and two chairs for each exhibition booth—if you need additional amenities, please bring them on your own. Exhibition booths may be of three types:

  1. Information Booths display information on conservation issues, projects, and activities in Bhutan. They may also sell local products relevant to their display.
  2. Product Booths sell wildlife and nature-related books, photos, CDs, posters, natural crafts, or other environment-related products.
  3. Games Booths engage participants in contests and games, preferably with an environment- or conservation-related theme.

All approved exhibition booths must be registered and set up at Clock Tower Square on Saturday, 29th August 2015, between 8:00 AM and 9:30 AM. During registration, booths will be assigned a location in the Square. After set-up, booth owners will be responsible for managing their own booths. BES will NOT be responsible for any damage or loss to booth displays. Take-down period for booths is the same day (Saturday, 29th August 2015) from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Booths should NOT be dismantled before 5:00 PM.
